January 2013
Start gathering your financial records and complete your tax returns early. Parents and students will use their tax returns to apply for financial aid.
- To apply for aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at sfasu.edu/go/fafsa.
Most SFA scholarships have a February 1 deadline. Complete the SFA General and Alumni Scholarship applications online. The application, as well as other information about all SFA scholarships, is available online at sfasu.edu/go/scholarships.
- The University Scholars and University Regents applications also are due February 1.
- Check your mySFA e-mail account for important SFA information.
- Contact the music department at (936) 468-4602 for details on music auditions. Information is also available on the Web at www.music.sfasu.edu.
- Contact the theatre department at (936) 468-4003 for details on theatre auditions. Information also is available at www.sfasu.edu/theatre.
February 2013
- Feb. 1: Deadline for most SFA scholarships
- If you have not applied for housing, now is the time. Submit your application and required deposit via your mySFA account.
- Plan on completing the fafsa this month, if you did not do so in January.

March 2013
- SFA will be closed for Spring Break
- If you are applying for financial aid, the FAFSA form is due. The financial aid priority deadline is April 1. The form is available at sfasu.edu/go/financial-aid.
- Register online at sfasu.edu/go/orientation for one of the summer orientation sessions. The summer orientation packets are mailed to admitted freshmen students, and information on transfer days will be mailed to admitted transfer students.
- If you have not provided documentation for the meningitis shot, now is the time. Submit your records to the Office of Admissions.
April 2013
- April 1: Priority financial aid deadline for fall semester
- Mid-April: Office of Student Financial Assistance begins mailing award letters to those who met the April 1 priority deadline
- April 29: Express Transfer Orientation
- Submit a copy of your immunization record to the SFA Health Clinic. The immunization form and requirements are located at sfasu.edu/go/health-services.
- Admitted transfer students should receive early registration instructions and Transfer Orientation information.
- Check your mySFA e-mail account for financial aid awards.

- For students taking AP courses, send your AP scores to SFA (code 6682).

- Transfer students should have their official transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions.

- June 13 - 14: Orientation Session I for incoming freshmen
- June 20 - 21: Orientation Session II for incoming freshmen
- June 27 - 28: Orientation Session III for incoming freshmen
- Incoming freshmen must have an official copy of their final high school transcript mailed to SFA before the fall semester.
- Housing facility assignments are made during June.
July 2013
- July 12: Express Transfer Orientation
- July 18 - 19: Orientation Session IV for incoming freshmen
- July 27 - 28: Orientation Session V for incoming freshmen
August 2013
- Early August: Bills posted to mySFA account
- Aug. 2: Transfer Orientation
- Aug. 25: Housing facilities open at 10 a.m.
- Aug. 26: Tuition and fees due
- Aug. 27: Classes begin for fall semester
