January
Start gathering your financial records and complete your tax returns early. Parents and students will use their 2009 tax returns to apply for financial aid.
- To apply for aid, complete the 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (fafsa) on the Web at sfasu.edu/go/fafsa and the SFA General Financial Aid application at sfasu.edu/go/financial-aid.
Most SFA scholarships have a February 1 deadline. Complete the SFA General and Alumni Scholarship applications online. The application, as well as other information about all SFA scholarships, is available online at sfasu.edu/go/scholarships.
- The University Scholars and University Regents applications also are due February 1.
- Check your "mySFA" e-mail account for important SFA information.
- Contact the music department at (936) 468-4602 for details on music auditions. Information is also available on the Web at www.music.sfasu.edu.
February
- If you have not applied for housing, now is the time. Submit your application via your mySFA account. There is a $50 deposit required with the application. For more information visit the New Student Housing Checklist
- Plan on completing the fafsa this month, if you did not do so in January.

- SFA will be closed for Spring Break March 13-21.
- If you are applying for financial aid, the fafsa form and the SFA General Application for Financial Aid are due. The financial aid priority deadline is April 1. The form is available on the Web at sfasu.edu/go/financial-aid.
- Register for one of the summer orientation sessions. The summer orientation packets are mailed to admitted freshmen students, and information on transfer days will be mailed to admitted transfer students. Register online at sfasu.edu/go/orientation.

- Priority financial aid deadline for fall semester: April 1

All students need to submit a copy of their immunization record to the SFA Health Clinic. Immunization form and requirements are located at sfasu.edu/go/health-services.
Transfer students should receive early registration instructions and Transfer Orientation information.
- In mid-April, the Office of Student Financial Assistance will begin mailing award letters to those who meet the April 1 priority deadline.

- For students taking AP courses, send your AP scores to SFA. The code for SFA is 6682.
- The Office of Admissions will be closed on Saturdays from May 15 through Sept. 7.

- Incoming freshmen must have an official copy of their final high school transcript mailed to SFA before the fall semester.
- Summer classes begin June 7.
- Residence hall assignments are made during June.
