January 27, 2010

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Advertising slogans such as "Just Do It," "I Love NY," "Where's the Beef?" and "got milk?" are explored in Doug Pray's documentary "Art & Copy," which the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art will present at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

The free, one-night screening is a part of the monthly film series sponsored in part by the SFA Friends of the Visual Arts. The Ad Design program at SFA is also sponsoring this screening.

Within the approximately 90-minute film, Pray reveals a bit of the work and wisdom behind some of the most influential and creative minds of our time and examines the cultural impact they have made.

Released in 2009, the film received the Best Director for a documentary award at the Atlanta Film Festival, the Achievement Award at the Newport Film Festival, and was selected for the Sundance and Hot Docs International Film Festivals.

The Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches. For more information on the film, please call (936) 468-1131.
