NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present sound recording expert Mark Hornsby in a guest lecture, "Current Trend in Audio" from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, in the Music Recital Hall, on the SFA campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
"Mark will be speaking about the current state of the music industry, focusing on job opportunities and strategies for finding employment in audio-related fields," said Kevin Kelleher, SFA instructor of sound recording technology. "He will also discuss his recent work as an audio engineer at the famous Abbey Road Studios where The Beatles recorded."
This is the first guest speaker SFA's newly formed Sound Recording Technology program has brought to campus, but Kelleher said students of other disciplines can also benefit from the lecture by applying his job strategies to their own fields of study. "Mark's vast knowledge and wealth of experience is sure to pique the interests of a wide audience."
Hornsby describes himself as a music producer, audio engineer, musician, writer and marketing guru who has worked with acts all over the world, consulted for numerous companies and record labels.
