Stephen F. Austin State University

JackText is an informational text messaging service that allows University offices to communicate with students, faculty, and staff regarding university business and extracurricular activities. It is not the same as the Campus Alert system, which is used to notify students, faculty and staff of situations on, or near to, campus that they should be aware of, such as severe weather, crime alerts, or active emergency situations.

Anyone with a mySFA account can sign up for JackText messaging. You may also sign up family and friends to receive university notifications, including student business and extracurricular notifications as well as payroll notifications. There is no charge to participate in the JackText messaging service; however, you may be charged by your cell phone service provider for your text messaging service.

The SFA community will be able to sign up for the JackText program beginning in mid-April, and text messaging will begin in May. This website will list the University offices and organizations that may send JackText messages as they come online during the summer and fall of 2011.

The Technical Support Center, Orientation, and Campus Recreation are live on JackText.
