The Department of Human Services offers a variety of opportunities for careers in the helping professions with undergraduate programs including Orientation and mobility.
Service to people is the common element in all instructional programs. The interdisciplinary nature of the department allows students to learn from instructors with a variety of experience in working with individuals who have disabilities, their families and the institutions that serve them. Practical experience is given to students during their studies through supervised student teaching,
practicum and/or clinic experiences. Employment opportunities in each of these disciplines are numerous and varied.
In addition to preparing students for entry-level positions in their chosen profession, the programs in the department provide a sound academic background for graduate education.
