Local dancers to hold benefit concert for cancer
November 21, 2011 - Kayli Steger Head
Pictured are members of Dancers Against Cancer, a newly formed SFA student organization committed to raising cancer awareness through dance.
The groups will present a wide variety of dance performances, including jazz, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical and comedy. All proceeds from the concert will benefit local breast cancer support groups.
"Cancer is something that will directly or indirectly impact us all," said Courtney Vernon, president of Dancers Against Cancer.
"Giving back through the art of dance is a way to raise awareness and honor survivors and those lost to cancer."
Tickets will be sold at the door and are $3 for students and $5 for general admission. For more information, contact Kayli Steger Head at (936) 468-2553 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
