SFA professor presents seminar at Economic Science Institute
January 30, 2012 - SFA Public Affairs
Dr. T. Parker Ballinger, SFA professor of economics, was invited to serve as an Economic Science Institute affiliate at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., last October.
The ESI is an academic center dedicated to using experimental or laboratory methods to understand socioeconomic behavior. The ESI affiliates program brings together scholars from diverse academic backgrounds, including economics, psychology and anthropology, to conduct research and interact with experimental economics researchers in the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman.
During his or her stay, each affiliate delivers a seminar to ESI founder and director Dr. Vernon Smith, winner of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, and the ESI faculty. Dr. Ballinger's seminar was titled "Individual Versus Social Learning: The Importance of Demonstrability."
