A student interested in earning a teaching certificate at the secondary level (grades 8-12) or all-level (EC-12) will need to major in the academic field(s) of teaching interest. Secondary Education can be a minor for most students. Therefore, if a student plans to be a math teacher, for example, his/her major would be mathematics, and secondary education would be the minor. Refer to the General Bulletin for more information, or contact the department directly at (936) 468-2908.
