SFA to stage student-directed 'Language of Angels'
February 11, 2014 - Robbie GoodrichNACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed one-act play "Language of Angels" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Downstage Theatre on the SFA campus.
Written by Naomi Iizuka, "Language of Angels" will be directed by junior theatre major Sarah Chavez of Nacogdoches. The play is set in North Carolina where a group of friends enter a cave, and one of the girls disappears.
"This haunting tale follows the investigation of her death and the fate of the friends who survived her," Chavez said.
The cast features Brady Suggs, Midland junior, as Seth; Celeste Rodriguez, Saginaw freshman, as Celie; Shelby Gilliam, Paris sophomore, as Kendra; Keenan Chiasson, Richmond freshman, as JB; Joshua Wallace, Vann senior, as Michael; Ashley Mouton, Groves sophomore, as Allison; Sarah Wisterman, Houston senior, as Danielle; and Chipper Morris, Grand Prairie sophomore, as Billy.
The technical team includes Stephen Davis, Baytown sophomore, stage manager; Pedro Dominguez, McAllen freshman, scenic designer; Destiny Duhon, Houston senior, costume designer; Ross Dennison, Houston sophomore, lighting designer; Heather Abbott, Garland junior, properties manager; Joshua Wallace, Vann senior, composer; Austin Holt, Weatherford senior, sound designer; and Cadie Horne, Houston senior, hair/makeup.
Faculty production adviser is Laura Rikard, assistant professor in the School of Theatre.
