The Stephen F. Austin State University Mast Arboretum will host the Les Reeves Garden Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 21, in the Agriculture Building, Room 110, located on Wilson Drive.

Dr. Jim Robbins, extension horticulture specialist and ornamentals professor with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, will be the featured speaker. He will discuss his top 100 plants in a lecture titled "Hey, I'll Trade You This Pink Flowering Fringe Tree for That Contorted Pine."

Robbins is responsible for research and extension programming for the greenhouse, nursery and landscape businesses in Arkansas. He oversees the education and testing for the Arkansas Certified Nursery Landscape and Nursery Professional program. And his research focus areas include plant material, container media and fertilizers.
