NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, Stephen F. Austin State University's art gallery located in downtown Nacogdoches, will be closed for a portion of the university's semester break.

The Art Center will be open as usual from 12:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, and Wednesday, Dec. 23, and again on Tuesday, Dec. 29, and Wednesday, Dec. 30. It will reopen for regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

Currently on exhibit in the downstairs Ledbetter Gallery is "The Texas Church Photography Project," which consists of 30 photographs of 19th and early 20th century Texas churches. The exhibition also includes a carved altarpiece by artisan John Sievers, and Sievers' woodworking tools on loan from the Witte Museum in San Antonio.

The show runs through Saturday, Jan. 23.

The Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. Main St. Its regular hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.

SFA's on-campus Griffith Gallery will be closed until Friday, Jan. 22, when "Home" opens at 6 p.m. The exhibition of paintings, sculptures and an outdoor installation showcases four artists from Texas and Massachusetts who explore architectural construction and deconstruction.
