NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Students enrolled in private and group lessons offered by the Music Preparatory Division of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will perform in a series of end-of-the-semester recitals in mid-December.

Piano students of Stephen Adams and Erin Tang will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, in the Prep Performance Hall located in the new Music Prep House, 3028 Raguet St.

Three separate events will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13, in the Cole Concert Hall of the Wright Music Building, 2210 Alumni Dr. Amy Bennett's oboe students, Rachel Shaw's classical guitar students, Andrea Slate's horn student and piano students of Amy Frenzel, Emily Kebodeaux, Meghan Kelly, Bethany Rasmussen, Matthew Webb and Missy White will perform at 2 p.m. Mary Cooper's piano students will play at 4 p.m.

At 7 p.m. that evening, the Pineywoods Youth Orchestra will present its first concert of the season. Dr. Evgeni Raychev serves as the group's director. Dr. Jennifer Dalmas is the assistant director, and Richard Leppert serves as the student assistant.

Harp students of Mollie Marcuson will perform at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in the Music Recital Hall, Room 160 of the Wright Music Building. In the same location an hour later, Raychev's cello students, Dalmas' violin and viola students, Alan Scott's guitar students and Max Wilson's bass students will play their recital pieces.

Three final recitals will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19. Suzuki violin students of Brenda Josephsen will perform at 1 p.m. in Cole Concert Hall, and at 2 p.m., piano students of Linda Parr and Dr. John Roberts will perform in the Music Recital Hall.

Dr. Ping-Ting Lan's piano students will play at 4 p.m. in Cole Concert Hall.

All of the recitals are free and open to the public.
