NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Area children may register for one of two age-appropriate art workshops offered by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art from 4 to 6 p.m. on the first two Wednesdays in November as a part of the Creative Art Wednesday program. Classes will be held at the SFA Art Education Graduate House, located at 115 Feazell St., behind Wendy's Restaurant.

First through fourth graders will meet on Nov. 3 to work with bubbles and squiggle abstracts as they learn about color and complementary colors. Fifth through eighth graders will meet on Nov. 8 to explore color and value by creating cool and warm trees and adding white and black to different colors.

Classes are taught by SFA art education majors under the guidance of SFA Assistant Professor Marsha Blount and graduate student Stina Jimerson.

Registration for each class is $5 and covers the cost of the materials. Parents may pre-register by e-mailing Blount at blountmarsh@sfasu.edu or Jimerson at jimersonck@titan.sfasu.edu.

"Parents are welcome to stay for the classes, but due to limited space, we ask that they not bring small children who are not enrolled," said Blount.
