NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts will present a one-night screening of "Desdémona: A Love Story" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 9, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329 E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches as part of its monthly film series. Admission is free.

Written and directed by SFA alumnus Phillip Guzman with cinematography by SFA alumnus Philip Roy, the film follows a Mexican immigrant as he reflects on his kidnapping a past love for the money he needs to bury his American father figure, portrayed by Brad Maule, SFA adjunct faculty and former daytime television star.

The 89-minute film was the winner of the Best Feature Film, Best Cinematography and Best Actor at the 2009 Boston Film Festival and named the Best Feature Film at the 2009 Naples International Film Festival. It is rated PG-13.
