NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Parents of newborns through 7-year-olds can register their children for the Kindermusik Adventure Camps to be offered through the Music Preparatory Division of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music Monday, July 25, through Friday, July 29. Registration deadline for the four age-appropriate sessions is Friday, July 15.

"Each of the camps uses music, stories and activities to inspire a lifetime of learning in the young participants," explained Pat Barnett, director of the Music Preparatory Division. "Our trusted Kindermusik educator Karen Greer will guide the classes through each research-proven and giggle-approved activity. Plus, each registrant receives take-home materials for continued enrichment and enjoyment."

"Oh, What Busy Days," designed for newborns through 18-month-olds and their caregivers, will be offered from 9 to 9:45 each morning. Each lesson features new activities and songs for all the places the baby goes-the store, playground, doctor's office, and more. Cost is $75.

"Zoo Train," for children 18 months to 3 years, will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Children and their caregivers will learn about real animals in the zoo, sing songs for clapping time, bring their own stuffed animals for the petting zoo and learn to regulate emotions through music. Cost is $100.

Children 3 to 4 years are eligible for "On the Road," which will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Playing "Eye Spy," finding shapes in clouds and taking imaginary trips on a bus named "Van Go" will highlight the children's musical experience. Parents are invited to spend the final 15 minutes of each class with the children. Cost is $110.

Through storytelling, 5- to 7-year-olds will develop an awareness of rhythm, movement, singing and drama in "Tell Me a Tale" from 2 to 4 p.m. Each lesson features a new tale from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multicultural elements. Cost is $120.

All sessions will meet in the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building, Room 275, located at 2210 Alumni Dr. on the SFA campus.
