NACOGDOCHES, Texas - All students in the Stephen F. Austin State University Music Preparatory Division who tried out for all-region orchestras recently were selected to participate in either the middle school or high school regional ensembles, according to Pat Barnett, Music Prep director.

"We are so very proud of our students," Barnett said.

As a result, six middle school students and eight high school students will join the all-region orchestras when they perform Saturday, Dec. 6, at Longview High School.

Auditions were held Oct. 18 at Grace Community School in Tyler.

Chloe Cook was named concertmaster for the all-region middle school orchestra. Catherine Meisenheimer and Sheetal Bapu were both selected as first violinists. Mattie Chauvin was selected as principal for the second violins. Megan Petti and Ashlynn McBroom were also selected as second violinists.

Joanna Schlaudt, Anne Metz, Annaleigh Andrews, Grace Dekerlegand, Andria Sowell and Aaron Bertke were selected first violins for the high school all-region orchestra. Isaiah Bertke was selected to play second violin in the orchestra. Lauren Robinson, cello, was also selected to be a member of the all-region orchestra.
