NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed one-act play "The Valiant" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Downstage Theatre on the SFA campus.

Written by Holworthy Hall and Robert Middlemass, "The Valiant" will be directed by Fort Worth senior Darius Michael Moore. The plot concerns a man waiting in prison for execution, according to Moore.

"The warden and the chaplain of the prison are determined to discover this man's true identity before they chance executing an innocent man. On execution day, a girl comes to see him, thinking he may be her long-lost brother. The play ends with the discovery of the man's true identity."

The cast features Jalen Clark, Arlington sophomore, as Warden Holt; Eric Gibson, Fairfield senior, as Father Daly; Tanner O'Neal. Longview freshman, as Dan, a jailer; Michael Dizon, Dallas sophomore, as prisoner James Dyke; and Andrea Nelson, Lake Dallas freshman, as Josephine Paris.
