Human Resource Management

Lumberjacks make great human resource managers

Human resource management (HRM) involves managing a workforce effectively, and it involves all stages of the employment process, from recruiting and hiring to payroll and benefits to termination or retirement. A qualified HRM administrator can help ensure that an organization’s employment practices, goals and guidelines are communicated clearly – and that employees know and comply with those practices, goals and guidelines.

Students who pursue a profession in HRM can expect to enter the workforce prepared for challenging, dynamic careers. As an HRM major, you’ll build the skills you need to make a difference within an organization or company. As a business student, you can choose to major or minor in HRM. A non-Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) minor is available to students who wish to pair HRM skills with majors outside the College of Business.
