Human Resource Management

Lumberjacks make great human resource managers

Human resource management professionals play a strategic role in helping organizations develop the human capital needed for long-term success. Through managing all stages of the employment process, from recruiting and hiring, payroll and benefits, training and development, to termination or retirement, HR managers play a key role in both the private and public sectors.

A qualified HRM administrator can help ensure an organization’s employment practices, goals and guidelines are clearly communicated to current and future employees.

With employment analysts predicting that this field is expected to grow by 9 percent in the next eight years, now is the perfect time to begin your studies at SFA.

Students who pursue a profession in HRM can anticipate challenging, dynamic careers. As an HRM major at SFA, you’ll build the skills you need to make a difference within an organization or company.

Not all HRM programs are the same. SFA’s program, housed in the AACSB-accredited Rusche College of Business, provides students with a strategic education while helping them understand aspects of corporate industry through business foundation courses.

As a business student, you can choose to major or minor in HRM. A non-Bachelor of Business Administration minor is available to students who wish to pair HRM skills with majors outside the College of Business.
