Career Success Passport

The Career Success Passport is a professional development and career readiness opportunity for students. The program equips students with knowledge and experience to launch their careers with confidence. Participants gain valuable insights and can accumulate points for substantial scholarship money.

How it works

Career Success Passport is divided into four components, including:

  • personal and professional branding
  • experiential learning
  • leadership development
  • and cocurricular events and activities.

 

Each of the four components comprises different activities focusing on professional development outside the classroom. Activities include internships, work and study-abroad experiences, résumé building, student organization leadership, and one-on-one networking opportunities with prominent business leaders.

Point values are assigned to each activity based on its relevance, time commitment and importance for career readiness. Points are totaled at the end of the spring semester, and scholarships are awarded to the top participants in each classification.

Scholarship opportunities

A total of $50,000 is awarded annually to qualified Career Success Passport participants. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors compete within their classification for performance-based awards.

Top Point Earner: A student from each classification receives $2,500
Runners-Up: Ten students from each classification receive $1,000

$80,000 for passport-related activity: Some program activities may require additional funds for student organization competitions, study-abroad experiences, experiential-learning field trips and other events. This money will be awarded as scholarships to students on a merit basis and are only given to active passport members.

  • preparing you for your future career
  • offering you fun and interesting program events that help you build your résumé
  • creating one-on-one networking opportunities with prominent SFA alumni, business leaders, chief executive officers and distinguished guests
  • and providing an opportunity to receive scholarship money.

Who is eligible?

All undergraduate business students are eligible to participate in Career Success Passport. Students must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA to qualify for any scholarships associated with the program.
