Communication is the most important job skill – and it’s at the heart of every career, from business to science, medicine to education. SFA’s communication studies programs strengthen your ability to communicate effectively and lead skillfully in a fast-changing global society.

Your communication studies degree can be applied toward many careers. Confidently enter fields involving negotiation, organizational leadership, public speaking, crisis and response and much more. Whether you choose to work in the U.S. or internationally, we give you the tools for success.

Undergraduate programs and requirements 

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in communication studies

Students can choose to pursue either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in communication studies.

Minor in communication studies

A minor in communication studies goes well with any major SFA offers. The valuable skills you acquire will help prepare you for success in any career. 

The minor in communication studies consists of 18 hours of coursework, nine of which must be advanced courses.
