Summer Courses

Are you looking forward to a summer vacation, but also hoping to earn your degree as soon as possible? Beginning this May, SFA will offer you the best of both options. The 2009 SFA Summer School schedule has been redesigned with you in mind. Now you will have your choice of time for work, internships, travel, or relaxation.

May-mester – earn three hours in 12 days!

For the first time at SFA, a 12-day term called May-mester will be offered. May-mester classes will meet weekdays from May 18 through June 3. Classes will not be in session on Memorial Day, May 25.

The May-mester will be especially beneficial to you if you live off campus and pay rent through the end of May. It will allow you to earn academic credit while getting the most for your monthly rent. On-campus housing options also will be available.

A three-credit-hour course during May-mester will meet for 3 hours and 15 minutes each day. Because of the intensity of courses offered during such a short time period, students will be allowed to enroll in up to four hours for May-mester.

Free-time Fridays!

Regular summer session classes also will be held, but you will have a shorter academic week. Summer courses are scheduled to meet Monday through Thursday.

Although classes will not meet on Fridays, university offices will be open. (Please note: final examinations for Summer II will be held on Friday, Aug. 14.)

Take SFA wherever you go!

SFA also is offering expanded online courses for the regular summer sessions, so even if you plan to return home for the summer, you still have the opportunity to earn degree credit.
