The American English Language Institute (AELI) at Stephen F Austin State University has as its primary goal providing the necessary English skills for international students to enter and to succeed in regular academic programs at our university or at another college or university in the United States.
Our focus is on academic English, but students develop fluent conversational skills as well. In addition to the linguistic skills required for academic success, the AELI also prepares students culturally for life as a student in the United States.
