Intramural Sports

Intramural Sports Program offers sports ranging from single day tournaments to multi-week league sports. This program offers traditional team sports like soccer, flag football, volleyball, basketball, softball; but also have events like dodgeball, wiffleball, and 3 on 3 basketball.

The main program goals are simple: Fun, Safe, and Fair. We take great pride in being able to offer the SFA community the opportunity to continue their involvement with sports they have grown up with. Even though we are focused mainly on athletic activities, we do offer events that involve very little athletic ability.

The staff overseeing the Intramural Sports Program has an assortment of experiences with different programs, school sizes, and officiating backgrounds. This program is run on a nightly basis by student site managers as well as officiated by student officials.

Intramural Sports League Pass
For those captains who plan on playing more than one sport, you may purchase an IMS League Pass and receive team registrations at a discounted price. These team registrations may be redeemed for any major team sport. The captain must have the IMS League Pass card with them at the time of their registration in order to receieve the discount.

Eligibility

All SFA undergraduate and graduate students taking a minimum of 2 lecture class or six (6) hours at Stephen F. Austin as well as all full-time faculty/staff members and active Campus Recreation members are eligible to participate in any and all intramural sports activities and events provided they present a valid SFA ID. Active Campus Recreation members are not allowed to participate in specialty leagues or Greek teams. Alumni of the University are not permitted to participate in Intramural Sports unless they are taking graduate level courses or if they are full time faculty/staff for the University. Sportsmanship

Participation in the IMS Program is a privilege, not a right. Sportsmanship is very important to the success of the IMS Program. With improved officiating and more hands on administration, better sportsmanship will be stressed in every facet of the program. A comprehensive overview of the sportsmanship policies is available in the policies and procedures handbook. This policy does include a strict "no cursing" rule, team sportsmanship grades, and spectator policies. We want to create an environment where all participants can have the best experience possible and where Lumberjacks can come together and compete.
