The Group AXE program offers a variety of exciting classes for all fitness levels, and are free for SFA students, Rec members, and their guests. Students and Rec members must have an active SFA ID.
Additionally, all Group AXE classes require that each participant pick up a Jax Pass from the Rec Welcome Desk, which are available 30 minutes before the class begins. Class space is limited to 30 participants for most classes, 9 for cycling classes.
All Group AXE Instructors are CPR/AED certified and have completed both the Campus Recreation New Hire training program, as well as the Fitness Instructor Training Program. Many have previous group fitness leadership experience and hold a nationally recognized group fitness certification or are in the process of obtaining their certification.
All participants who wish to enter into a class must wear appropriate workout attire with non-marking soled athletic shoes. Facility policies regarding food, drink, attire and behavior also apply within the group exercise classes. No one will be admitted into a class after 5 minutes of the schedule class start time. This is to ensure the safety and to avoid disruption of the class. One may bring his or her own equipment to the appropriate class, however proper equipment will be provided.
