The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, based in Boulder, CO, provides educational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts aimed at developing low-impact practices related to outdoor recreation. The Trainer Course is a vital component of the nationwide Leave No Trace program and assists student participants in learning more about the seven principles of Leave No Trace. Trainer Courses are designed for educators, guides, agency employees and other outdoor professionals. Successful graduates of the Trainer Course gain the skills to teach Leave No Trace techniques and ethics to their clients, friends and family, and are prepared to offer official Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops in a variety of settings-such as schools, camps, parks, wilderness and front country areas. Now available to SFA students at a deeply discounted rate, this condensed two-day adventure course offers official Leave No Trace Trainer certificates and educational materials to participants who successfully complete the curriculum. This course also serves as the prerequisite to the 5-day Leave No Trace Master Educator course offered by SFA Outdoor Pursuits during the 2013 Maymester.
