"The Texas Department of State Health Services is hosting its first annual Get Fit Texas State Agency Physical Activity Challenge and is inviting all state agencies and universities to participate. The Get Fit Challenge began January 14 and ends March 24.
To compete, employees must complete the minimum recommended level of physical activity, which is at least 30 minutes per day, five days per week for at least six of the ten weeks. To support the program, full-time employees will be allowed release time of 30 minutes per day, three days per week, to pursue fitness on campus. Supervisors must approve the time(s) during work hours when employees wish to exercise. Employees will need to schedule time at the beginning or end of the work day, or extend their lunch period, to cause the least amount of disruption in their departments. A release form for employees and their supervisors to sign will be provided on the Employee Wellness Connection website, www.sfasu.edu/ewc/. After supervisor approval is obtained, participants must register at www.getfittexas.org and maintain their workout log through that website.
Employees may design and participate in fitness activities that best meet their own personal goals, including walking or jogging on campus. Employee Wellness Connection offerings may be found at www.sfasu.edu/ewc/, and employees who are members may workout at the Student Recreation Center."

• Discuss your plans with your supervisor, who will determine whether or not to approve your proposed plan
