Are you ready to fuel your mind, body and soul? This year's virtual Wellness Fair is one you won’t want to miss! Featuring four educational presentations and two activity classes led by wellness experts, you'll be sure to leave with tools to enhance your quality of life.

Registration via Zoom is required. Once registered, you will automatically receive information on how to join each session. Proof of attendance can be provided if requested.​

Stretch Out Stress: Educational presentation followed by relaxation yoga
Your ability to manage stress directly impacts your overall wellbeing. Learning stress reduction and relaxation techniques can improve your health, promote clearer thinking and improve your mood. Combat the physical and mental effects of everyday stress with relaxing and slow-paced yoga poses. Yoga will give you a great total-body workout that will leave you feeling relaxed and stress-free.

One Degree of Difference: The Science of Habits
Ready to dive deep into human psychology in a fun and interactive way to break down the science of our subconscious behavior? If you've ever tried to break a bad habit or create a new habit, you know that it is extremely challenging. Through an understanding of the human brain and what drives our behaviors, we have a better chance of successfully changing those behaviors. Based on the most current research in neuroscience and behavioral change, this workshop will help participants discover how one degree of change can make a huge difference over time.

AXE F.I.T.: Group Axe class
Functional and intense training. Accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to increased fitness performance. Challenge yourself with movements that increase strength, endurance, power, agility and flexibility. The AXE F.I.T. program is designed for everyone – beginners and advanced athletes are encouraged to join!

Led by Jescelyn Villarreal and Veronica Parks

The regularly scheduled face-to-face AXE F.I.T. class in the Campus Rec Outdoor Fitness Area is available with Campus Rec membership.

 

Jennifer Klingenberg

Jennifer Klingenberg is a licensed professional counselor with SFA Counseling Services. She is a SFA alumna who has been with the department for more than seven years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology and her Master of Arts in psychology. In her professional career, she has worked in many mental health settings, such as private practice, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment facilities, employee assistance programs, homeless shelters and nursing homes.

Addison Koval

Addison Koval is an SFA Campus Recreation Group Axe instructor who specializes in the vinyasa yoga format. Vinyasa yoga can range from a calm flow to a full-body workout. Addison started her yoga journey five years ago and has been an instructor for one year. She loves the mental clarity that yoga brings and hopes that you will join her in finding your breath and connecting to your body. ​

 

Jill Hamilton

Jill Hamilton received her dietetics degree from Kansas State University and completed her dietetic internship at Texas A&M University. She also has athletic training and exercise physiology degrees from Baylor University. Jill is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Sports Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group, and the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association. She enjoys sharing her passion for nutrition with everyone on the SFA campus.

Lacy Wolff

Lacy Wolff serves as the health promotion administrator at the Employees Retirement System of Texas. She is responsible for promoting wellness initiatives offered through the group benefits plan to more than 500,000 state employees, retirees and family members. Prior to this, she earned an undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University and spent more than 12 years supporting the health of the U.S. Army overseas in Italy and Germany.

Jescelyn Villarreal

Jescelyn Villarreal serves as the assistant director of fitness and wellness for Campus Recreation. She leads the weight room, personal training, group fitness, massage and outreach programs. She holds a master's degree in kinesiology from California Baptist University and has over 16 years of experience in the fitness and wellness field.

Veronica Parks

Veronica Parks is currently working toward a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology. Her certifications include National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer.
