Intramural Sports
Intramural Sports Program offers sports ranging from single day tournaments to multi-week league sports. We provide many traditional individual/dual sports like racquetball, table tennis, and three point shooting contests, but are always looking to expand our offering to include new events like punt/pass/kick competitions, X Box tournaments, and Texas Hold’em. This program offers traditional team sports like soccer, flag football, volleyball, basketball, softball; but also have events like flickerball, sports trivia bowls, 3 on 3 basketball and inner tube water polo.
The main program goals are simple: Fun, Safe, and Fair. We take great pride in being able to offer the SFA community the opportunity to continue their involvement with sports they have grown up with. Even though we are focused mainly on athletic activities, we do offer many events that involve very little athletic ability.
The staff overseeing the Intramural Sports Program has an assortment of experiences with different programs, school sizes, and officiating backgrounds. This program is run on a nightly basis by student site managers as well as officiated by student officials. The opportunity for student development is seen in every aspect of this program and will continue to be one of the most popular and exciting programs at Stephen F. Austin. Our goal is continually offer premiere programming while continuing the educational mission of the University through sport.
The Intramural Sports program has many opportunities for students such as employment, sportsmanship development and free agent program. Participants will also be able to view the schedules for each intramural event, how to enter an intramural event, rules, team points race, divisions for team sports, brackets for campus championships and weekly reviews for various teams.
