What we do:
Outdoor Pursuits encompasses a wide variety of your adventure needs, including:
- OP Trips: The chance to get outside with the OP staff and other students while learning new outdoor skills in new and exciting environments.
- Clinic Series: Enhance your outdoor experiences by learning new outdoor skills with our staff.
- Climbing Wall: On our 34 foot free-standing wall, you can hone in on those climbing skills or just come boulder for fun.
- Outdoor Center: This is our main headquarters and the place for you to come for your entire trip planning, gear rental or purchasing needs. This is also the main location to learn about and sign up for trips and clinics.
- Experiential Learning Center
- Special Events: Come find out how adventurous you really are! Join Outdoor Pursuits as they host different events to get your heart pumping. Events include Midnight Fright Climbing Night, Jacks on Belay climbing Competition, and many more!
The Outdoor Pursuits program at SFA strives to provide experiences that contribute to the overall physical, emotional, intellectual and moral development of each student. This is accomplished through a variety of programming means including: an outdoor / travel clinic series, outdoor adventure trips, outdoor equipment rental and retail, a multiple high and low element challenge course, as well as open recreation on our indoor rock climbing facility. We truly believe that our programming has the power to change the world, one student at a time.
Our Outdoor Pursuits program is only as good as the quality student staff we employ. Therefore, we are always in search of exciting and enthusiastic students to join the OP team.
