The Center for Career and Professional Development recognizes the importance of preparing students for their transition from SFA to the world of work. As student learning extends beyond the walls of the classroom, on-campus employment presents the perfect opportunity for experiential learning. ASAP training is designed to acclimate new student workers to the standards of employment at SFA, as well as to help them realize the importance and relativity of professionalism in their current positions. Skills, traits, and habits developed while working on-campus with faculty and staff directly impact their success in future careers.

On-campus student employees: New student employees must register and attend ASAP training before they can begin work on-campus or be placed on payroll. For additional information on necessary new-hire paperwork and mandatory training, visit Human Resources' Student Employment page.

Compensation for on-campus student employees

You are to be paid by your departmental employer for attending ASAP training! Student employees earn one hour's worth of work for completing ASAP training, and it is your responsibility to communicate to your supervisor that you have attended ASAP training. You will receive a confirmation email reflecting the date and time of your scheduled presentation.

After completion of ASAP training, you will receive an additional email confirming your attendance. Provide this email confirmation to your employer to receive compensation.
