Hi there! My name is Jennifer Ewing and I am the Career Counselor and Research Coordinator for Counseling and Career Services. I am a proud graduate of SFA where I earned my B.A. in Psychology as well as my M.A. in Counseling. Being a person who appreciates and craves diversity, my job provides me with just that! I work closely with students, as well as faculty and staff, to provide students with the tools to understand their interests, values, and personality characteristics so they can gain direction and confidence in their ability to choose a career and the appropriate major.
College is a time for fun, certainly, but it is also a time to grow, learn and develop. Many students face challenging issues during their college years. It is not uncommon for students to be unclear about the major they wish to pursue, nor is it uncommon for students to be unclear about what jobs actually exist!! I am here to help clear those muddy waters for you. I am here to assist you if you cannot decide on a major or even if you want to change your major. I am here to help you decide among many interesting paths you may encounter. I am here to assist you in reducing the stress that can accompany these important decisions and make it an exciting and enlightening exploration! Please don’t just wander through college hoping something will work out by the time you graduate. People who don’t take charge of their education and their future are significantly less likely to graduate. You came to SFA because you have goals you want to achieve.
