Hey parents/family members do you want a FREE SFA T-shirt???
This year Orientation Programs will be participating in a service project to help our local community. If you are attending one of the first three sessions please bring 3 non-perishable foods items with you, you will receive one free SFA T-shirt (adult sizes only). If you are attending one of the last two sessions, please bring 3 or more unused school supply items with you. There will be large boxes to place these items in outside of parent/family check-in which will be located in the Village Commons. Not only do we want you to get involved with Stephen F. Austin, but the Nacogdoches community too! Thanks for your support!
Accommodations for Family
Guest spaces are available should you desire to stay on campus for the night your student is attending Freshman Orientation. The cost is $15 per parent/family member staying in university housing in addition to the $70 Orientation fee ($85 total per person). The off-campus Orientation fee does not include the cost of your lodgings.
An umbrella, comfortable walking shoes and other personal items will make your stay more pleasant. Dress is casual for all sessions. Parents/family members staying on campus will be staying in a campus residence hall called the Lumberjack Lodge. You must provide your own bed linens-XL twin sheets, pillow, towels, blanket, alarm clock and toiletries. In addition, you may want to bring a radio or television (basic cable is provided) to make your stay more comfortable.
Please note that parents and students will be staying in SEPARATE accommodations. Parent accommodations are in a suite style setting. There are four bedrooms to a suite. Parents arriving without spouses WILL be assigned roommates of the same gender. Couples who are attending may share a suite with another couple.
Please note: Lumberjack Lodge is designed to be similar to an apartment. Up to four guests will be assigned to a room.
If you prefer off-campus accommodations, a number of hotels are located in the Nacogdoches area. The website http://www.visitnacogdoches.org/ lists several hotels in the Nacogdoches area.
