American Medical Technologists (AMT)
Stephen F. Austin State University is now a testing site for American Medical Technologists (AMT) tests delivered through Pearson Vue:
- CMAS - Certified Medical Administrative Specialist
- COLT - Certified Office Laboratory Technician
- MLT - Medical Laboratory Technician
- MT - Medical Technologist
- RMA or S-RMA - Registered Medical Assistant
- S-RDA or S-RDA - Registered Dental Assistant
- RPT or S-RPT - Registered Phlebotomy Technician
Registration and Scheduling
- Submit your application, register for your examination(s), and pay an exam authorization fee with AMT. AMT reviews your information, determines eligibility and sends an admission letter to authorized candidates.

- Receive your Authorization to Test letter from AMT. The authorization letter provides you with your AMT candidate ID number and outlines the steps you must take for scheduling your exam through Pearson Vue.
- AMT sends the necessary records to Pearson Vue for each candidate that is authorized to test. You may not schedule your exam until Pearson Vue has received authorization from AMT.
- Schedule your appointment with Pearson Vue by:
- Visiting the Candidate website: http://www.pearsonvue.com/amt
- Calling the AMT registration number at the Call Center: 1-888-846-6941
(Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. U.S. Central Time.
- Pearson Vue sends each candidate an appointment confirmation letter providing the time, date, test center location and directions to the test center. Remember to bring your AMT admission letter and the required identification to the test center on the day of your exam.
Identification Requirements
Examinees must bring both Primary and Secondary Identification. All Identification must be valid and not expired.
Primary Identification must have photo, and signature:
- Government issued driver’s license
- Military Identification
- Passport
- State/County Identification
Secondary Identification must have signature:
- U.S. Social Security Card
- School Identification
- Employee or hospital Identification/work badge
- Bank ATM card
- Credit card
- Any identification on the Primary list

- Cellular telephones, beepers, cameras, all photographic, communication, computer and electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the testing room.
- Food, drinks, gum and candy are not permitted in the testing room
- Calculators are not allowed.
