Jan Wisener

I received my B.S. in Elementary Education with a kindergarten endorsement, as well as, a Master of Education as a Reading Specialist from Stephen F. Austin State University. My specialization is in Math and Science. I am also certified as a Gifted and Talented instructor. My teaching career began as a 3rd grade teacher at Kennard Elementary. After teaching at Kennard for one year; I transferred to Nacogdoches ISD. I was assigned to Fredonia Elementary for 15 years. During my tenure on this campus, I taught 1st grade for one year, two years of 2nd grade, and 11 years of teaching 4th grade. In 1999, I transferred to Raguet Elementary and taught 4th grade there for one year. In 2000, I came to the Charter Campus and taught 4th grade, all subjects, for four years. In 2005, I began teaching math and science to 4th and 5th grade students. I loved having the opportunity to work with these youngsters two years in a row. Currently, I am teaching 5th grade math and science. I love working with children and I am very proud to be a part of the SFA Charter family.

Ashley McFarland

My name is Ashley McFarland, and I am thrilled to be teaching 5th grade language arts and American history at the SFA Charter School. I received my bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin and am currently pursuing a Master's degree. Throughout college, I worked at SFA Early Childhood Lab as the After School Care Coordinator and as a teacher's assistant. After graduating, I just couldn't leave Nacogdoches! I've spent the last two wonderful years teaching middle school for Nacogdoches Independent School District. I received the NISD Superintendent Gold Star Award in 2013, as well as the Anne K. Wallace Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014. I'm glad to be back at the Charter School, and I'm looking forward to a wonderful year of learning!
