First Grade: Erin Wyatt

Hi, there!  My name is Erin Wyatt.  This is my first year teaching at the Charter School and I am absolutely thrilled to be here.   I came to Nacogdoches to attend SFASU when I graduated from high school in Belton, Texas.   The first time I visited Nacogdoches, it was April and the azaleas were in full bloom.  I knew the moment I stepped out of the car that I had found a new home.  About halfway through college I met and fell in love with John Wyatt, who is now my sweet husband.  John also works at SFA in the HR Department.  We live in a small house off of Raguet Street with a rambunctious puppy named Jesse. 

First Grade:  Shawna Slaughter

I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University.  My areas of specialization are Reading and Physical Education. 

My teaching career began in 1997.  Since that time I have been blessed to work with many age groups and teach a wide range of curriculum including: physical education, computer science, second grade, third grade and fifth grade. I have taught third grade for the past five years and thoroughly enjoyed the children and their eagerness to learn!

I am very excited about teaching first grade at the Charter School this year! I am joining an exceptional staff and I’m elated about the opportunity to be a part of such a loving and child centered program.
