Third Grade: Lauree Hayes

II received both my Bachelor of Science in Education and a  Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.  My areas of specialization are Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education.  I am also a certified gifted and talented teacher. 

My teaching career began in 1983 at Carpenter Elementary in Nacogdoches where I enjoyed teaching second grade for 6 years.  In 1989, I transferred to the Brooks-Quinn-Jones campus where I learned and grew with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students for the next 10 years.  In 1999, I accepted the first grade position at the Charter School on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.  I enjoyed 10 years watching first graders bloom.  In 2009, I am thrilled to begin my tenure as a third grade teacher.  During my association with the Charter School I have also served as an instructor for the Stephen F. Austin State University Department of Elementary Education.

Third Grade: Casey Watts

My name is Casey Watts. I grew up in a very small town in deep East Texas. You may know the town by its antiques and host homes known as B&B's. Although there was little to do growing up, I now enjoy visiting the infamous Jefferson, TX. I now happily live in Nacogdoches, TX with my husband, Clifton Watts, and our three dogs. We attend an amazing church, Grace Bible Church, and enjoy working with the College Life Freshman Group.

I am in my fourth year of teaching and have enjoyed it from the day I started my first teaching job in Crosby, TX as a 4th Grade Teacher. I have since taught 2nd grade and currently teach 3rd grade at Stephen F. Austin State University Charter School. Education is not only my career, but it is also my hobby. There is no greater experience than spending time with a child and positively impacting their life.
