Dr. Geralyn McClure Franklin is interim dean in the Nelson Rusche College of Business at SFA. Before her current position, she served as associate dean for student services and M.B.A. director. Prior to that, she held positions as dean of business at the University of Dallas, the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Dr. Franklin is active in AACSB International, serving as a member of the board of directors and chairing the audit committee. Dr. Debbie DuFrene is associate dean in the Nelson Rusche College of Business at SFA. She is former chair of the Department of General Business, recently renamed as the Department of Business Communication and Legal Studies. She has taught a variety of business communication courses at SFA and previously at McNeese State University and Nicholls State University. Dr. Jack R. Ethridge is Director of the Masters in Accountancy Program in the Gerald W. Schlief School of Accountancy at SFASU. He is currently the senior faculty member in the School of Accountancy with over 37 years of experience in higher education. Bio:
Marie Kelly taught as a lecturer in the Accounting Department from 1987-1991. From 2006-2010, she was an adjunct faculty member before returning to the department full-time. She received her CPA license in 1984. Prior to joining SFA in 1987, she worked for five years in public accounting and private industry in Houston, Lufkin, and Nacogdoches. She is also Texas teacher certified in Mathematics and Business, and taught at Douglass ISD for 13 years, coaching students to advance to state UIL competitions in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Dr. Mikhail Kouliavtsev is currently an associate professor of economics at Stephen F. Austin State University. Ryan Phelps is currently an assistant professor of economics at Stephen F. Austin State University. He has published numerous papers and given conference presentations on the causes and effects of smoking bans in the hospitality sector. Ryan is responsible for the creation and oversight of the economics reading group. Now in its second year, the group provides incentives for students from across the University to engage with faculty in energetic discussions about economic topics.
