Bio:

Matthew Lindsey is currently an Associate Professor of Management at SFASU in Nacogdoches, TX. His primary research area is inventory forecasting models specializing in models for items with intermittent demand, and he is active with the Decision Sciences Institute. Dr. Lindsey's primary teaching interest includes operations management and management science. Before coming to SFA he taught at the University of Texas at Tyler and the University of North Texas. He worked over 12 years in the foundry industry in various areas of production including time as tooling manager, shift superintendent and quality manager.

Bio:

Dr. Marsha Bayless taught at the secondary, vocational school, and community college levels in Kansas before coming to SFA in the last century. Her doctoral dissertation in business communication won the Robert E. Slaughter Research Award. She has presented papers, written and edited proceedings, and authored journal articles and book chapters as part of her research agenda. She co-authored three editions of a Business Communication textbook and was the first woman to win the University Teaching Excellence Award at SFASU. She has served as President of five professional associations including the Association for Business Communication where she received the Francis W. Weeks Award of Merit (2010) and the Distinguished Member of ABC (2011).

Bio:

Ms. Judith Biss has been a lecturer in business communication at SFASU since 1999. For nearly 20 years she worked in various managerial positions in the publishing industry, was joint-proprietor of a publishing services business in Chicago, and worked as a trainer. She presents frequently at ABC national and regional conferences, has co-authored proceedings and articles, and was recognized for distinguished papers in 2008 and 2009. She has also been a contributing writer for textbook ancillaries for three editions of the Lehman/DuFrene textbook, Business Communication, published by Cengage.

Dr. Justin Blount is an Assistant Professor of Business Law at SFASU in Nacogdoches, TX. His primary research interests are in corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. Before coming to SFA, he served for 7 years as the Associate General Counsel for a publicly traded financial services company and was an Adjunct Lecturer at the Baylor University Law School.

Bio:

Dr. Clipson has 40 years teaching experience. A recipient of numerous teaching awards reflects his love of students and teaching. He has lead in development of curriculum in business leadership and training and development. He also helped create and directs SFA 101, which this year offered 75 sections of a course helping freshmen succeed. Additionally, he is an active consultant and public speaker in leadership and communication, delivering personal and professional development programs to organizations throughout the United States. His research supports his teaching. He has written numerous articles, delivered numerous presentations and developed training manuals on leadership and communication.

Bio:

Dr. Debbie DuFrene previously served as the associate dean in the Nelson Rusche College of Business at SFA. She is former chair of the Department of General Business, recently renamed as the Department of Business Communication and Legal Studies. She has taught a variety of business communication courses at SFA and previously at McNeese State University and Nicholls State University. She serves on the international board of directors for the Association for Business Communication and has co-authored multiple editions of two widely adopted business communication textbooks. Dr. DuFrene retired in August of 2014.

Henry Dunn began teaching at SFA in 2004. Prior to entering academics Mr. Dunn spent 20 years in the private sector industry. His experience includes business ownership and management positions in petroleum, telecommunications, and facilities/project management. In addition to teaching, Mr. Dunn serves as Internship Coordinator for the Department of Business Communication & Legal Studies and faculty advisor for the business student organization, Phi Beta Lambda.

Dr. Grubbs was a partner in two separate law firms in north Texas during 23 years of private practice prior to joining SFA. He holds a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating and has continued with legal consulting while fulfilling his academic duties for the university. His transactional and trial and appellate experience covers a wide range of business sectors and areas of business law. He is also a certified mediator. Dr. Grubbs teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is also certified as an online instructor. His published research and his conference presentations have focused on applied legal research as well as pedagogical issues.

Dr. Susan Evans Jennings has 27 years of experience in teaching, with 11 years at the secondary and 16 years at university levels. She previously worked for 10 years with Lion Oil Company. Before her current position, she was an Assistant Professor at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. Since joining SFASU in 2000, she has written 2 textbooks for South-Western Publishing, served 4 years as a journal editor, 6 years as a proceedings editor, had 25 journal articles and 24 proceedings published, and presented more than 80 presentations and workshops at the local, state, regional, national and international levels.

Dr. Clive Muir has over 20 years of academic, nonprofit and business experience in the United States and abroad. He has training and experience in the hospitality and travel industry. He has 13 years of experience in post-secondary teaching, with 13 years at the community college level, and 3 concurrent years at the university level. Before his current position, his experience included over twenty-five years of progressive management in the private sector, where he held the positions of; Human Resource Manager-ConAgra Foods Inc., General Manager-DFW Logistics, Warehousing Manager-Pilgrim's Pride Inc., and Vice-President of Operations-Dallas Warehouse Company. In the ten years that Mr. New served in the capacity of Human Resource Manager, he developed and wrote policy and procedure, safety, and employee manuals for logistics and food manufacturing facilities. He also serves on the faculty at Angelina College, where he is lead instructor for the General Business program.

Bio:

Dr. Wells is a Partner, Oil and Gas for the Zeleskey Law Firm in Lufkin, Texas. Her practice focuses on oil and gas law and she represents several large oil and gas exploration companies performing title examination and preparing title opinions. She is experienced in negotiating oil and gas leases, surface damages, pipeline rights-of-way and preparing deeds. She also represents mineral owners and assists them in managing their mineral assets. She serves as a mediator for oil and gas disputes. Wells served as an articles editor on the Houston Law Review and was a member of the Christian Legal Society. She was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and the Order of the Coif for academic achievements and she received a Lex Award for Contracts II. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and North Dakota.
