T. Parker Ballinger is a Professor of Economics at Stephen F. Austin State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Houston. His current research interests include saving and consumption decisions, social learning, and experimental economics. Professor Ballinger's work has been published in the Economic Journal and Experimental Economics. Prior to graduate school, Professor Ballinger served as an officer on board the U.S.S. Dr. Giudici joined SFA in Fall 2008. While at SFA, Dr. Giudici has published half a dozen peer reviewed journal articles (e.g. Financial Services Review, Journal of Economics and Finance, Annals of Regional Science, etc.). He has also presented over a dozen of papers in regional, national and international academic conferences (e.g. Financial Management Association, Academy of Economics and Finance, Southern Finance Association, etc.). Rebecca Innerarity is currently teaching part-time in the Economics and Finance Department at SFASU. During her teaching experience at SFA, she has taught Business Communications, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Finance, and Personal Finance. After earning her MBA in 1994, she continued a career in banking and teaching economics part-time at Angelina College. In 1999, she was hired as the Scholarship Coordinator at Angelina College; later in 2000, she became Financial Aid Director. Dr. Stephen Kosovich is currently an associate professor of economics at Stephen F. Austin State University. His past research has measured the impact of job losses in terms of earnings losses and the savings decisions of laid-off workers. Born the son of Garland and Betty Simmons in Houston, Texas in 1955, Mark Simmons worked in his father's grocery store - starting at age ten. He went to college at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where he met and married his wife, Terry Baker Simmons, in 1977, as he was working on a Master's degree. After graduation, he worked for Shell Oil Company as a capital budgeting analyst, and then left that company to study finance at Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a Ph.D. in 1987. Along the way he taught at Sam Houston State and at Texas A&M, became a stockbroker, and passed the CPA exam. In 1987 he joined the faculty at Stephen F. Austin State University. He and his wife Terry are members of First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches where Mark serves as a deacon and teaches a Sunday school class. Dr. Michael Stroup joined the economics faculty of SFASU in 1999. He has served the college as Interim Dean, leading a successful AACSB reaccreditation in 2010. He has also served as Interim Director of the School of Accountancy and as MBA Director. Dr. Stroup has published many articles in a broad range of scholarly journals, including Public Choice, Kyklos, Journal of Economics and Finance, European Journal of Political Economy, and World Development.
