STUDENT SUCCESS ADVISORS for the James I. Perkins College of Education

The James I. Perkins College of Education, Student Services and Advising Center has 6 full-time specialized Student Success Advisors. These advisors meet with SFA students every semester until they graduate; keeping them on track with their degree plans, establishing tentative coursework schedules, providing academic counseling and leading students towards positivity and success utilizing available campus resources.

HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH AN ADVISOR

Student Success Advisors typically have fully booked schedules, with back to back 30 minute appointments. Due to the high demand of previously scheduled appointments and requirement to follow the SFA FERPA Confidentiality Policy, Advisors are unable to assist students and parents over the phone.

To be in touch with an advisor, you have two options:

Student Success Advisors are unable to advise SFA on-campus undergraduate students through email. If you are in an Online Completer Program, please be sure to communicate regularly via email with your Advisor. If you would like to speak on the phone with your Advisor, please email them to establish a convenient callback time.

Schedule your Student Success Advising Appointment early in the current semester, to be able to register during registration week for the upcoming semester!

For further questions not related to specific advising questions, please call our front desk at 936.468.2901.
