Jenlink, P. M., & Jenlink, K. E. (Co-researcher). (In progress). Learning in the Pluralist Society: Researching Issues of Identity and Inclusion in the Irish Educational Systems. Collaborative research study designed to examine education systems in Ireland. Connected with the European Forum on Educational Administration, the study will examine the education systems in Ireland, hereafter defined as schools, administrative units, and teacher preparation programs. The focus of the research is to examine issues of identity and inclusion within the two distinct countries in Ireland: the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, a province of the United Kingdom. Results from the study will serve as a base-line data set for requesting funding support for a comparative study between schools and teacher preparation programs in the U.S. (Texas) and Ireland.

Jenlink, P. M., & Jenlink, K. E. (Co-researcher). (In progress). Portraitures of Field-based teacher Preparation: Critical Perspectives in an Era of Reform. Collaborative study using portraiture inquiry method and post-formal critique to examine field-based teacher preparation in Texas. Study includes five university teacher education programs and related partner schools. Project is in second year of study, and has result in book project (Under contract and in progress) and peer-reviewed presentations/articles.

Jenlink, P. M., Reigeluth, C. M., Carr-Chellman, A. A., & Nelson, L. M. (Researcher). (In progress). Designing a facilitator's guidance system for systemic change in education. Collaborative research project between University of Indiana, Penn State University, Brigham Young University, and Stephen F. Austin State University focused on the design and development of a comprehensive guidance system under the title of, Facilitating Systemic Change in School Districts: A Guidebook. Specific research agenda includes research on: 1) the systems design process used to create the guidance system; 2) types or taxonomies of conversation important to systemic change; 3) specific qualities essential to process facilitation of school district personnel; and implications for policy and practice as it relates to educational change. Project has resulted in peer-reviewed presentations/articles, book chapter, and book (in progress).

Collaborative study focused on teacher preparation in urban centers, using a portraiture inquiry method. Study included nine university teacher education programs across the United States. Project resulted in a published book and peer-reviewed presentations/articles.

Jenlink, P. M., & Kinnucan-Welsch, K. (1996-2001). (Senior Researcher). A study of process facilitation and creating sustainable professional learning communities. Collaborative projects with a twenty-five district Math & Science Consortium in Detroit, MI area, sponsored by Goals 2000 program, Michigan Department of Education. Three (3) grant awards funding projects in the Ypsilanti and Detroit, Michigan, areas (totaling approximately 1.1 million) addressed the development of professional learning communities with an emphasis on process facilitation and sustainability. Specific topics of research include process facilitation, constructivist oriented practice, technological infrastructures, creating and sustaining learning communities, and understanding the dynamics of professional practitioner change. Project resulted in book chapter, peer-reviewed presentations/articles.

Wrote justification and proposal for 15 garments, dated prior to 1910, from the Department of Human Sciences Costume Collection to be included in the Texas Tide Digital Learning Consortium grant written by Rachel Galen, Director of SFA, East Texas Research Center (2005). The images will be published for used by public school students. The grant was funded and work and publishing will be completed in 2006-07.

Collaboration with Texas Agricultural Extension Service in Nacogdoches County, the East Texas Region, and the state organization. Primarily collaborated by providing current information through programs and training, serving on committees and judging. Served as a speaker on life skills in Family and Consumer Sciences at the legislative day in Austin.

As researcher, collaborated with Todd Lucas, Visiting Instructor, Department of Art, to develop computer-modeled images for research grantentitled "An Investigation of the Color, Texture, and Pattern Preferences of Persons with Alzheimer's Disease; Part II."

2001. As professor of HMS 412 Commercial Design I, arranged for interior design students to collaborate with Dr. J. B. Watson and students, Sociology, and Ms. Barbara Stump and students, Horticulture, on an interdisciplinary project entitled "The Design of an Assisted Living Facility: Rockhill Continuing Care Retirement Community."

1996. As professor of HMS 412 Commercial Design I, arranged for interiordesign students to collaborate with Dr. J. B. Watson, Sociology, and Mrs. Scotty Sherrill, Director, Nacogdoches Treatment Center, in a Service-Learning Project wherein interior design seniors interviewed center staff and created designs for an in-house Alzheimer's Daycare Facility.

1993 to present. Collaborated with Dr. Sandra McCune, Elementary Education, Dr. Donice McCune, Mathematics and Statistics, Mr. Todd Lucas, Art, Dr. Duke Brannen, Secondary Education (retired), and Dr. Donnya Stephens, Secondary Education (retired), in the publication of articles and presentation of papers describing joint research endeavors and educational inquiries.

Partners include: SFA Department of Elementary Education -Science, Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful, Pineywood's Beekeepers Association, SFA Mast Arboretum, College of Forestry and Agriculture, College of Fine Arts (Music/Art Departments), SFA Pineywoods Native Plant Center, and Texas Forest Service.

Wetland Adventure an education program for 800 4-8 students, lead by SFA Science Education Interns. Partners include: Texas commission for Environmental Quality, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, Keep Nagodoches Beautiful, SFA Elementary Education-Science, Sabine River Authority, Texas Forest Service, and SFA Mast Arboretum.

Teaching Environmental Sciences is a scholarship graduate class offered in Nacogdoches and Longview (the past 11 years) through the Elementary Education Department in collaboration with Texas Commission for Environmental Quality, Region VII Education Service Center, EPA, Keep Texas Beautiful, and a large number of local and state agencies and businesses.

Angelina Initiative Phase II is a Teacher Quality Grant program for teachers in Angelina County to provide professional development in the Sciences. It is a collaborative of the SFASU College of Education and the College of Science and Math. It includes six school districts in Angelina County - Lufkin ISD, Hudson ISD, Huntington ISD, Zavalla ISD, Central ISD and Pineywoods Community Academy.
