2004 Secured funding for development of on-line courses for off-campus degree program with Tyler Junior College, $5000.00 Southwestern Bell Excellerator Grant

2003. Currently directing thesis research investigating the perception of first, second, and third year secondary agriculture science teachers relating to their ability to deliver the mechanized agriculture curriculum at the secondary level.

2003. Director of thesis research investigating the perceptions of graduates from the department of agriculture from 1995-2002. Completed summer 2003

2002. Director of thesis research. Study is investigating the perceived importance of selected leadership traits of professionals in the agricultural industry. Completed July 2002

1998-2001. Director of research grant funded by Kellogg Foundation through corporation with Texas A&M University. Project is entitled Growing Minds and s a cooperative effort between agriculture, forestry and elementary education. Cheryl Tate in forestry has been the primary investigator. My role has been that of facilitator which included attending four workshops funded by Kellogg and continued monitoring of the project including working with Grant Schum at TAMU. Total value of the grant has been approximately $75,000.00

2000-2001. Assisted in the expansion and continued development of the SFA Mast Arboretum through utilization of funds for appointments of needed personnel.

1996. Director of thesis research. Effects of block scheduling on student/teacher performance in agricultural science programs in Texas. Funded by Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, 6400.00.

1994. Received grant from Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to conduct a student leadership seminar. Grant written and awarded in conjunction with Dr. Miles McCall in the Department of Communications. $8400.00

1993. Developmental activity funded by Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to plan and development a departmental student recruiting organization. $1800.00

1992. Director of thesis research that examined the relationship between teaching and learning styles of selected college professors and their students.

1991 to December 1992. Director of thesis research. The Effects of Three Energy Saving Devices on Kilowatt Hour Consumption in East Texas Broiler Houses. Funded by Texas Utilities, $10,000.00. Study completed jointly with Texas A&M University.

1987 to December 1989. Director of thesis research. Follow-up Study of Graduates of the Department of Agriculture from 1981 to 1988. Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

1985 to July 1986. Director of thesis research. An Analysis of the Vocational Agriculture Essential Element Competency Profile Rating Scale. Funded by the University Research Council and Houston Livestock Show for $6300.00 Results published in a refereed journal.

1983 to July 1984. Director of thesis research. A Systematic Approach for Determining In-service Needs In Agricultural Mechanics. Funded by Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. $8,839.00. Results of this study were used to plan and implement in-service workshops for high school agricultural science teachers in the areas of tractor hydraulics, electrical systems, and air conditioning. Workshops were conducted by John Deere Company, Dallas, Texas. Workshops extended over three years. Results published in a refereed journal.
