CERT - Prep ELL Project
James I. Perkins College of Education
The CERT-Prep ELL grant was awarded to the James I. Perkins College of Education at Stephen F. Austin State University in October 2007. CERT-Prep ELL is the acronym for Consortium for Excellence in Rural Teacher Preparation English Language Learners. CERT-Prep ELL is a federally funded Transition to Teaching Grant that awards up to $5,000 to qualifying participants to help alleviate the costs of Post-Baccalaureate Initial Certification (PBIC), the initial teacher certification program at SFASU.
CERT-Prep ELL is a one to two-year web-based program that will help qualified individuals from a variety of backgrounds serve as teachers earning a teacher salary while completing an accelerated, flexible, high-quality alternative certification program. Coursework for this program may be completely online depending on the teacher certificate sought.
