CERT-Prep ELL Admission and Application Process

The admission process for students to be admitted into the teacher preparation program at SFA are as follows:

Post-graduates will seek admission through the Alternative Teacher Certification program at SFA (additional information can be found at at www.sfasu.edu, search Teacher Certification and select the first option, or through email at edcertpbic@sfasu.edu.)

* Determine whether you are eligible for the Alternative Teacher Certification program (this includes, in part, having a Bachelor’s degree and demonstrating ability in Math, Reading and Writing)

* Apply for admission to the Graduate School

* Apply for admission to the the Educator Certification Program

* Apply for a Certificate Plan

 

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
To be eligible for the CERT-Prep ELL Program you must be accepted into the university through the graduate school admissions and be accepted into a teacher preparation program as listed above. To apply for up to $5,000 in Transition to Teaching scholarship funds, please complete the following steps:

  1. complete the Transition to Teaching Candidate Application Form
  2. submit two letters of reference
  3. write and submit a letter of application stating your interest in obtaining the Transition to Teaching Scholarship
  4. obtain a signed Nomination Form from one of our partner school districts

Scholarship application forms can be obtained by contacting the CERT-Prep ELL Project staff.
