Alternative Certification: Post Baccalaureate Initial Certification (PBIC) Program Application Steps
- Determine your eligibility for the PBIC program. Eligibility Requirements
- Apply to SFA Graduate School. (You will be a student seeking certification only, no degree.) Grad School App
- Apply to the PBIC/Teacher Education Program. Application
- Request a Certificate plan in the Education Area you wish to teach. Certification areas, Certificate plan request
- Once you are admitted into the PBIC program and are issued a certificate plan, contact Dr. Jeanie Gresham for Elementary course permits or Jo Lynn Corley for Secondary or EC-12 course permits.
- Complete Field Experience. What is field experience?
- Pass the TExES exam in your content area. Test Info, PACT Info
- Apply for a student teaching placement. Stud Teach App or IF you have signed a contract to teach, please contact Jo Lynn Corley immediately.
