Undergraduate Certification
SFA offers many certification programs for teachers and other school personnel. To view a list of certification programs, click on the Areas of Certification.
To become a certified teacher you must:
- Determine your eligibility for the Teacher Education Program. Eligibility Requirements
- Apply to SFA Teacher Education Program Undergraduate Application (see below, additional fees required).
- Successfully complete your coursework in general education, academic content area, and pedagogy.
- Demonstrate content knowledge and professional proficiency on the TExES State Exams. Test Information
- Complete field experiences including internship and Student teaching. (field experience)
- Apply for your teaching certificate through the State Board of Educator Certification.
