Transfer Students

As a transfer student, you probably have many of the Core Curriculum classes taken. While it is possible to complete the prerequisites to enter the internships with only one semester at SFA, it is likely that you will need two semesters, or a semester and a summer.

Keep taking the Core Curriculum classes that you need
AFTER you fit these classes into your schedule.

Take the following courses as soon as possible!
SPE 329 Survey of Exceptionalities
EPS 380 Educational Psychology
ELE 304 Technology in Teaching
RDG 318 Early Literacy Development
RDG 320 Upper Level Literacy Development
MTH 127 Introduction to Mathematics for Elementary Teachers
MTH 128 Intermediate Mathematics for Elementary Teachers
MTH   College level math course approved by advisor.
Students are required to have taken 9 hours of college level math PRIOR to starting Internship II.

 

EC-6 MAJORS TRANSFERRING MORE THAN 50 HOURS
Students who have 50 hours and only four LONG semesters left, take the following courses your first semester:
ECH 328 and Lab Psycho-Social Development
ECH 331 and Lab Child-Centered Environments
ELE 304 Technology in Teaching
EPS 380 Educational Psychology
RDG 318 Early Literacy Development
RDG 320 Upper Level Literacy Development

4-8 Program students should take Content Area Courses.

Seek admission to Teacher Education after one full semester at SFA.
