The Child and Family Development Club is open to all students who have a major or minor area of study in child and family development. Club meetings are held once a month in the School of Human Sciences North building and activities include guest speakers, planning for conferences, community service project activities, and networking with other students with similar academic and career interests.
Club members have represented Stephen F. Austin State University in professional settings such as the Annual Conferences of National Council on Family Relations, Texas Council on Family Relations, Early Childhood Intervention, Texas Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and Parent Education.
Club members are enthusiastic in their participation in community service projects which have included book drives to benefit Head Start and community child care programs, Christmas gift packages for residents of the East Texas Women's Shelter, and children's blanket drive to benefit families with children who have disabilities or may be developmentally delayed.
