WELCOME to the Graduate Entry-Level Athletic Training Education Program. We offer a Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training that can be completed in two years. Our program is housed in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science in the Perkins College of Education.
We are a CAATE-accredited six semester entry-level academic program. Our university is located in the beautiful Pineywoods of East Texas. Cohorts begin their coursework the second summer session (July), with an anticipated completion in May of their second academic year. Within this time frame Athletic Training Students will be eligible for Texas Athletic Training Licensing and be ready to attempt the Board of Certification national examination. They will have clinical experience opportunities with all of SFA’s athletic teams, SFA Student Health Services, SFA strength and conditioning facility, area high schools, orthopedic clinics, surgical observations, rehabilitation facilities, emergency room observations, and EMS ride-outs.
