Dr. Linda Stark Bobo, PhD, ATC, LAT; Program Director Dr. Bobo admitted the first cohort into the Graduate Athletic Training program in 2003. Academically she completed her coursework at Northeast Louisian University (BS), Northwester State University (MEd), and the University of Southern Mississipi (PhD). Her professional actitives since being at SFA have involved: Serving as Chair of the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association Athletic Training Student Advisory Council and committee member; appointed to serve on the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Governance Task Force; participating as Site-Visitor for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education; member of the CAATE Review Committee; providing medical services with various USOC athletic teams, and attending various regional, national, and international conferences focusing on athletic training/education and pedagogy. Her research interests are in effective clinical instruction and the utilization of video feedback. Dr. Stephanie Jevas, PhD, ATC, LAT; GATEP Clinical Education Coordinator Dr. Jevas serves as the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Graduate Entry-Level Athletic Training Education Program. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health at Texas A&M University and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Physical Education/Athletic Training at Western Michigan University. Dr. Jevas worked as an athletic trainer in both the clinical and high school settings including Pasadena HS, Galena Park HS, and Deer Park HS. She began pursuing her doctorate studies in the Spring of 2000 at the University of Houston and completed her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Kinesiology/Sport Psychology in the Summer of 2004. Prior to coming to SFA, Dr. Jevas taught in the undergraduate athletic training program at East Carolina University for two years. Her research interests include burnout in the athletic training profession, psychosocial aspects of injury, and psychososocial aspects of body image and disordered eating in athletes. |

Sanford "Sandy" Miller, MS Ed, ATC, LAT; Head Athletic Trainer Now in his 28th season, Miller oversees a comprehensive Athletic Training program which includes preparing students for careers as Athletic Trainers. A native of Larned, Kan., Miller came to SFA in 1981 after spending five seasons as the head athletic trainer at Northwest Missouri State. Miller is a member of the board of directors of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA). He has served on the Athletic Training staff at the 1990 Goodwill Games and the U.S. Olympic Training Center, as well as serving as the Athletic Trainer for USA Track & Field at the World Championships in Sweden, in 1995. He also represents Texas and Arkansas as district director for the NATA. In 1999, Miller was honored as a Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer, one of 12 in the country, by the NATA. Miller is also a member of Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame. During the summer of 2002, Sandy received the highest honor of an Athletic Trainer, induction into the National Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame in Dallas. Sandy received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in 1972 and his Master's degree from Northwest Missouri State. Miller and his wife Madalene are the parents of two sons, Justin and Doug, and grandparents of four wonderful girls. |

Loree M.C. McCary, MESS, ATC, LAT; Assistant Athletic Trainer Loree is in her 18th year on the SFA staff. She is primarily responsible for the care and rehabilitation of female athletes, while assisting with all sports. She is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. McCary came to SFA after serving as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Florida, where she served as the Athletic Trainer for volleyball. The Girard, Kansas native is a 1988 graduate of Kansas State, where she served three years as an athletic training student. She earned her Master's degree from University of Florida in 1990. She is married to Vance McCary. |

Troyce Solley, MS, ATC, LAT; Assistant Athletic Trainer Troyce Solley, a native of Bloomburng, Texas, is in his second year as an assistant athletic trainer at SFA. Prior to accepting the position, Troyce worked at St. Edward’s University where he was responsible for men’s basketball, women’s socce , cheerleading, men’s and women’s tennis. Troyce received his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Texas–Arlington while serving as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the track & field team. Troyce received a Bachelors degree from Texas State University in Exercise and Sports Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training. While at SFA, he will be working with our men’s basketball team. |

G.W. "Trey" Younger III, MS, ATC, LAT, NASM-CES; Assistant Athletic Trainer Entering his 7th season, Trey Younger joined the SFA staff after 11 years of service in the high school setting. A lifelong resident of southwest Louisiana, he is a 1992 graduate of McNeese State University and a 2007 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Trey has extensive training in the field of Emergency Medicine and has been named a Corrective Exercise Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Currently active in the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association, he serves on the Public Relations Committee and oversees their website. With experience in every sport from professional rodeo to high school wrestling, Trey began his career at SFA by concentrating on men's basketball for four years. He has since shifted gears to oversee soccer and baseball. |
